CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EdX.org, the leading nonprofit online learning destination founded by Harvard and MIT, today announced the appointment of Adam Medros as the company’s president and chief operating officer. Medros will assume the day-to-day management and oversight of edX’s operations, contribute to edX’s strategy and growth and report to Anant Agarwal, edX CEO.
Medros comes to edX from TripAdvisor, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President of Global Product, leader of the hotels vertical, and a member of the executive team. Medros brings experience in building strong teams and driving innovation. His appointment comes at an exciting time for edX, as the company continues to grow, expanding its global learner base to over 13 million students and offering new, innovative programs and credentials designed to help learners advance their careers.

Most recently, Medros led the hotels business for TripAdvisor, which is its largest business unit. He served at TripAdvisor for 13 years, where his roles included revenue optimization, online customer acquisition, product management and strategy and content operations. Before TripAdvisor, Medros worked in product management and finance at Amazon and as a business analyst for Nordstrom’s eCommerce business. Medros received his BA in Economics and German with Honors from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
