TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. will hold the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 for 10 days from Friday, October 27 through Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight. The theme for this year’s show is “BEYOND THE MOTOR.”
Following the Press Days on October 25-26 open only for journalists, the show will be opened to the public from October 27 (Fri) through November 5 (Sun).
All 15 brands from 14 Japanese manufacturers along with 19 brands from 13 international manufacturers will be exhibited at the show.
A total of 153 companies and organizations from 10 countries will be represented in this comprehensive show that includes passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, carrozzeria, vehicle bodies, parts, machinery and tools, as well as automobile-related services.

innovative mobility
Tokyo Motor Show 2017’s new signature
event, “TOKYO CONNECTED LAB 2017”, will provide opportunities to
experience the connectivity and new values created by a mobile society
of the future. Three hands-on programs will provide easy to understand
explanations of these values.

THE FUTURE - Visualizing mobility in the Tokyo of the future
This fully interactive event will reflect participants’ ideas of an urban-centered “mobile society” of the future based on their feedback and six key concepts (“social good,” “universal,” “move,” “drive,” “private,” and “share”). A dome with a capacity of 300 people will provide a constantly updated 360-degree projection visualizing the input from participants.

THE MAZE - Connecting with a futuristic Tokyo
Discover what’s possible when cars, drivers, and city infrastructure all connect! This event enables 30 visitors at a time to drive their own cars and travel through a fully connected, maze-like futuristic Tokyo.

THE MEET UP - Exchanging ideas about the future of mobility
Produced in collaboration with the online news site NewsPicks, THE MEET UP is a series of talk sessions that will build on the “BEYOND THE MOTOR” concept.
