Dali Wireless Licenses Patent to Texas Instruments

New agreement gives Texas Instruments access to Dali patent for digital predistortion technology

MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--Dali Wireless, Inc. (“Dali”) announced today that it reached an agreement with Texas Instruments (“TI”) to license Dali’s US Patent No. 8,149,950 for certain purposes. TI is a global semiconductor design and manufacturing company that serves more than 100,000 customers worldwide. Under the agreement, TI may sell its GC53xx devices to certain of its customers and gains license access to Dali’s ‘950 Patent which covers digital predistortion technology for power amplifiers in wireless communication systems.

This announcement follows directly on the resolution of a patent infringement lawsuit with Fiplex Communications, Inc. in which Fiplex agreed to license Dali’s U.S. Patent Numbers 9,419,714, 9,439,242, and 9,622,148 for its Public Safety Digital DAS products. The named patents relate to various fundamental technologies for next generation Distributed Antenna Systems (“DAS”).

Still outstanding is a lawsuit against CommScope for infringement of Dali patents concerning certain fundamental technologies for digital DAS and digital predistortion technology.

Dali has an extensive worldwide patent portfolio dating back to 2006 when the company first focused on inventing digital predistortion and radio frequency (“RF”) distribution technology. The company has been recognized as a “Hot Tech Innovator” by ABI Research in each of the past three years and its patents are critically important to enabling 5G and virtual Radio Access Networks (“vRAN”). Dali continues to invest in innovation and is committed to actively protecting its innovations and intellectual property rights.
