Snow Software Teams up with Microsoft to Deliver Transparency of Software License Usage in Microsoft Intelligent Asset Manager

Integration with Microsoft Intelligent Asset Manager simplifies and streamlines creation of Effective License Position

STOCKHOLM--()--Snow Software (“Snow”), the global leader in Software Asset Management (“SAM”) and Cloud Spend Management solutions, today announced its integration with Microsoft Intelligent Asset Manager. This builds on its long-standing support for Microsoft customers. With the integration, Snow can now work directly with Microsoft to manage customers' license positions, alleviating many of the complexities and challenges around the cumbersome license review process.

Using accurate inventory data from Snow, this collaboration enables customers to streamline the creation of an Effective License Position. Approved by Microsoft, this gives enterprises a trusted baseline that will stand up in audits and reviews for the first time.

With its newly-launched Intelligent Asset Manager, Microsoft – with the help of Snow's extensive data and analytic capabilities – now enables all Microsoft customers to access a comprehensive view of licensing and usage to optimize their Microsoft estates.

“When faced with a renewal, true-up or audit, enterprises and software vendors often come up with several differing versions of the ‘truth,’ wasting time and money in the process,” said Axel Kling, CEO, Snow Software. “By making audit data from Snow available in Microsoft’s new Intelligent Asset Manager we are taking a huge step towards removing the pain from this process and establishing an agreed upon, accurate ELP with Microsoft that will stand up in an audit.”

For Snow, its many channel partners and thousands of customers, Microsoft Intelligent Asset Manager helps create efficiencies by reducing the amount of time and labor dedicated to SAM engagements and drive greater value.

“Together with our partners we formulated a strategy to ease many complexities in Software Asset Management,” said Roel Decneut, SAM&C Operations Lead at Microsoft Corp. “In launching the Intelligent Asset Manager, we have simplified the way customers can maximize value and minimize risks from their software investments.”

Founded in 1997, Snow is the established global market leader in SAM, helping more than 6,000 organizations across more than 50 countries contain and optimize software spend and achieve compliance with complex software licensing terms across cloud, desktop, data center and mobile applications.
