Digital Guardian Commissioned 451 Research Report Calls for a Data-Centric Approach to Endpoint Security

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--Digital Guardian today announced the availability of a new 451 Research paper titled, “A Data-Centric Approach to Endpoint Security.” The paper includes deeper analysis on key findings from 451 Research’s Voice of the Enterprise (VotE) security report and highlights why a growing push toward the consolidation of security capabilities – particularly at the endpoint – is increasingly necessary as IT teams look to reduce complexity and improve their overall security posture.

The report found that a majority of enterprises have five or more endpoint security solutions in place and some large organizations juggle more than 10. This over accumulation of endpoint security tools is driving “information security debt,” as enterprises over-invest in cybersecurity solutions, while also creating additional steps for security teams tasked with analyzing and protecting large data sets.

Our research indicates a marked shift toward endpoint consolidation based on security spending priorities and the pain points within enterprise security,” said Eric Ogren, senior security analyst at 451 Research. “Security teams must be able to collect accurate data while gaining a broader view of their security posture without switching consoles. Our latest report with Digital Guardian provides a comprehensive look at structuring consolidation objectives to maximize current investments and enhance risk management – both of which are highly important to a CISO’s function.”

The report supports Digital Guardian’s strategy to embrace a convergence of various functionalities at the endpoint, marked by the company’s recently launched Digital Guardian Analytics & Reporting Cloud (DG ARC). DG ARC is the only data protection solution leveraging the same endpoint agent and management console to deliver Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR).

Cyber attacks targeting sensitive data are increasing in scope and sophistication, which makes CISOs jobs harder than ever, especially as they attempt to consolidate their security portfolios,” said Ken Levine, president and chief executive officer, Digital Guardian. “The Digital Guardian Analytics & Reporting Cloud was designed to reduce complexity and make security consolidation easier by providing a unified console that protects sensitive data from both risky insiders as well as external adversaries.”
