DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--“No Game No Life Zero,” an anime film adaptation of the sixth volume of the hit Japanese light novel series, “No Game No Life,” comes to the U.S. for a special two-night cinema event this fall. Following the highly anticipated movie’s gala screening at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival (LA-AFF), anime fans across the nation can catch Sentai Filmworks’ production of “No Game No Life Zero” on big screens nationwide this October.
“No Game No Life Zero” will debut in movie theaters nationwide through Fathom Events, in partnership with Azoland Pictures, on Thursday October 5 at 7:00 p.m. local time (Japanese with English subtitles) and Sunday, October 8 at 12:55 p.m. local time (dubbed in English). In addition to the feature content, attendees will enjoy a special welcome from Sentai Filmworks ADR (dub) director Kyle Jones as well as American voice actors Scott Gibbs, Caitlynn French, Shannon Emerick, Kira Vincent Davis and Sara Ornelas.
Tickets for “No Game No Life Zero” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 500 select movie theaters. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).
The series follows undefeated gamers Sora (Scott Gibbs) and Shiro (Caitlynn French) as they are challenged by the god of games to a chess match and win. Consequently, they are brought to the alternate reality of Disboard. “No Game No Life Zero” unfolds six thousand years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard – war consumed the land, tearing apart the heavens, destroying stars, and even threatening to wipe out the human race. Amid the chaos and destruction, a young man named Riku leads humanity toward the tomorrow his heart believed in. One day, in the ruins of an Elf city, he meets Shuvi, a female exiled "Ex-machina" android who asks him to teach her what it means to have a human heart.
“Fathom Events is pleased to partner with Azoland Pictures and offer this exciting presentation to anime fans,” Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said. “We are proud to continue to bring the very best in Japanese animation to American movie audiences nationwide with the debut of ‘No Game No Life Zero.’”
