OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Netsmart announced a new partnership with My Health My Resources of Tarrant County (MHMR) to create an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system across its health network for the third-largest county in Texas. Netsmart is an innovative healthcare technology provider that provides EHRs, health information exchange, data analytics, mobile clinical and engagement solutions for behavioral health, social services and post-acute communities.
MHMR is one of 39 community centers in Texas that provides services for mental health, child and family services, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, and other related services. As the second-largest local community center in the state, MHMR will implement the Netsmart EHR platform across its organization in 2018 to connect healthcare data, analytics and billing services.
“It became clear very quickly that Netsmart was the right partner for our team,” said Susan Garnett, CEO of MHMR. “Not only do they bring an ONC certified system to the table, but their team has been heavily involved in health information policy to improve the lives of the people we serve. Our shared mission is to treat the whole person and to drive positive change for our staff, the people we serve and the community.”
Although Texas is not a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) pilot state participant, MHMR was certified as part of that process and is expected to implement features of the program to facilitate a range of mental health and SUD services for individuals with complex needs. This hybrid system utilizes components of the nine CCBHC requirements as a baseline for adapting their program into the Netsmart EHR network, which will hold local authorities in the county accountable for adhering to the proposed regulations. The state will be able to provide continuous quality care at lower costs, exchange data with healthcare systems across the continuum and provide reporting and analytics to measure performance.
As MHMR looks forward to their Meaningful Use attestation, the Netsmart system, through analytics and KPI dashboards, will make the process seamless.
“We’re excited to launch our journey with state organizations across Texas, starting with Tarrant County and its leadership,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Their vision to treat the whole person through connected and coordinated care matches our mission, and we look forward to bringing these services to the state.”
