Stream Cares Donates $25,000 to the American Red Cross in Response to Hurricane Harvey

The philanthropic arm of the leading energy and connected life services provider donated $25,000 to the Disaster Relief Fund

DALLAS--()--Stream (Stream Energy), a leading direct selling company and provider of connected life services, donated $25,000 through its philanthropic arm, Stream Cares, to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in response to Hurricane Harvey's severe damage along the Texas and Louisiana coasts.

Torrential flooding has devastated the region, taking several lives, forcing an estimated 30,000 people from their homes and causing 300,000 power outages over the weekend. Floodwater is being measured in feet, not inches, and is expected to linger.

"We established Stream Cares to help people who experience homelessness in all its forms. That includes natural disasters," said President and CEO Larry Mondry. "We are absolutely committed to supporting the American Red Cross as they bring relief to those affected by this historic storm, including the thousands of Stream customers in the area."

Stream is collecting additional donations, including food and other supplies, to aid the relief effort. "This cause is especially close to our hearts as it impacts our Stream family in Houston and surrounding areas," Mondry said. "We'll continue to monitor the situation and provide support to our customers there. We're with you."

Those interested in helping Hurricane Harvey victims by making a tax-deductible donation to Stream Cares in support of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund may do so here.
