TORONTO--()--Indeed, Canada’s number 1 job search site, debuted today the 25 Best Places to Work in Canada, curated from the site’s hundreds of thousands of company reviews from employees.

The list is topped by one of Canada's largest banks, RBC, and includes airline industry leaders WestJet (#6), the purpose-driven Hospital for Sick Children (#5) and tech giant IBM (#21). Click here for the full report.

“Company reviews can greatly impact a job seeker's decision on where they apply,” said Jodi Kasten, managing director at Indeed Canada. “The companies that made our Best Places to Work in Canada list offer an exemplary employee experience, receiving praise for their commitment to offering a great culture, work-life balance and great pay & benefits among many other factors.”

While a variety of industries are featured on the list, including finance, healthcare, energy, aviation, and manufacturing, there are similarities seen throughout their employee reviews that stand out. Many reviews applaud the commitment to nurturing a great corporate culture and cultivating an environment that’s based on open communication, a team mentality and a sense of community.

“Increasingly we see that the modern workforce optimizes for happiness. Companies that are willing to evolve and invest in their workforce will continue to attract and retain top talent,” said continued Kasten. “Our data also spotlights that while compensation and job security are always top of mind for employees, a positive company environment and good management are also key factors in making a company a great place to work.”

“Being recognized as one of Canada’s best places to work based on the reviews of our employees is a great reminder of how important it is to invest in our people,” said Jenny Poulos, Senior Vice President, Workforce Strategy and Employee Experience at RBC. “RBCers share the view that working here is about making a difference, knowing our contributions matter and feeling fulfilled by what we do for our clients, communities, and each other. Our purpose – helping clients thrive and communities prosper – is what inspires us to be our best, and a big part of why we continue to be recognized as a great place to work.”
