FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CYH) announced today that subsidiaries of the Company have completed the sale of their ownership interest in Rockwood Health System and its associated assets to subsidiaries of MultiCare Health System. Facilities included in the transaction are 388-bed Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, 123-bed Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley and the multi-specialty Rockwood Clinic, all in Washington. The effective date of the transaction is July 1, 2017. With the divestitures completed, Community Health Systems affiliates continue to operate two hospitals in Washington.
The two hospitals included in this transaction are part of the 30 planned hospital divestitures discussed on the Company’s first quarter 2017 earnings call.
