BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy (LAVCA), an accredited, full-time, online public charter school serving students in grades K-12, will honor the Class of 2017 at a graduation ceremony on Monday, May 15, at BREC’s Independence Park Theatre.
Sixty-one high school seniors who participated in online instruction will graduate from the school, offered through a partnership between K12 Inc. and Community School of Apprenticeship Learning Inc. (CSAL). LAVCA students benefit from a rigorous, content-rich curriculum, designed to meet state or national standards, as well as dedicated staff.
LAVCA teachers and staff will be in attendance to recognize graduating class achievements, as will Head of School, Danielle Scott-Johnson, set to deliver remarks.
Emily McCarty is the Class of 2017 valedictorian and Madison Blanton is the salutatorian. Blanton will address fellow classmates in a message of reflection.
The ceremony will conclude with refreshments for the Class of 2017 and their families.
