Attendease Raises Pre-Series A Investment Led By 500 Startups Canada

Vancouver-based event automation company to accelerate sales and marketing and invest in platform functionality

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--Attendease, a cloud-based event automation solution, announced today it has closed a pre-series A investment round led by 500 Startups Canada that also includes Canadian firms Conconi Growth Partners and 7Gate Ventures. 500 Startups Canada is the Canadian arm of the early-stage venture fund based in Silicon Valley.

Attendease provides a cloud-based event automation platform for corporate event teams for the planning and execution of the entire portfolio of corporate events. The event technology (EventTech) market is a competitive landscape dominated by event management tools with narrow functionality that fragment the event planning lifecycle. Over 60% of event planners rely on seven or more tools to plan a single event. Oftentimes, tools are not well integrated, do not enable repeatable or scalable processes or capture data well. Attendease brings a unique perspective to event planning by automating and integrating the event lifecycle within the marketing stack - Attendease is marketing automation for the events team.

“The EventTech market is poised for innovation and disruption, with corporate event teams looking for a modern approach to automate the entire event lifecycle. We’re pleased to publicly share news on our pre-series A financing to build on our strengths and accelerate our customer growth. With 5,000,000 meetings and events held every year on a global basis, the corporate event market is a $30B market that is ready for a marketing automation approach that works for the Chief Marketing Officer and the entire event execution team,” said Todd Heintz, President and CEO of Attendease.

By simplifying, organizing and growing events for businesses that do many events of all types and sizes, Attendease makes corporate event teams more productive in driving lead generation and customer engagement. Attendease plans to use proceeds from the investment to grow sales capabilities and to accelerate product feature development, building on the platform’s core strengths and unlocking scalability.

Patrick Lor, Managing Partner of 500 Startups Canada, added, “Attendease is operating in a large, established market that is undergoing structural change. The company has deep domain knowledge, a strong team, and is approaching the problem in a unique way that we see as opportunistic in solving the pain of corporate event teams who need scalability and repeatability in their event planning cycles. We look forward to working with the Attendease team to build a world-class EventTech company.”

“Sales and marketing automation tools have changed the way companies market and sell from the top of the funnel through the customer experience. But while corporate meetings and events continue to be a strategic way to drive demand, nurture customer relationships, and position businesses within industries, they are still difficult to plan and execute. The Attendease solution applies a marketing automation approach to event management, enabling teams to create a repeatable and scalable event planning process,” said Robin Jones, CMO of Payfirma and prior marketing executive at event technology companies QuickMobile and Lanyon.
