PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--One of the biggest challenges in health care today is how to design a system that meaningfully engages patients and clinicians for better health.
On Thursday, April 13, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. PT, NEJM Catalyst will host a live web event, Hardwiring Patient Engagement to Deliver Better Health, where expert speakers will share how to better engage patients by embedding patient wants and needs into the care delivery system.

This free, live web event will include three separate sessions, with attendees encouraged to submit questions online for an interactive Q&A with the featured experts.
The sessions are:
- Design That Drives Engagement — A mix of digital tools and personal interactions with providers has the potential to match patient preferences and needs with health system offerings. Hear from the head of a new academic design institute for health and the co-founder of a company devoted to creating lasting patient engagement methods.
- Social Networks That Enable Engagement — Tapping into a patient’s social support system can be a highly effective and cost-efficient approach to chronic disease management and other health care challenges. Two physician-researchers will share their insights on social health behavior.
- Real Teams That Build Engagement — Team-based care must be consistently and meaningfully engaged to deliver the best results. Using their work with vulnerable and complex patients to provide whole-person care, our speakers – leaders of one of the nation’s largest integrated delivery networks and a community health system – will share key concepts to build real teams for meaningful engagement.
