NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the fourth consecutive year, Kickboard has been named a finalist in the EdTech Digest Awards, this year in the Classroom Management Solution for Teachers category. The Kickboard school culture system is a unique combination of technology and personalized leadership coaching that gives educators the tools and support to plan for, create and sustain a successful school culture.
The EdTech Digest Awards recognize people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. Featuring the best and brightest in ed tech, the annual recognition program seeks to highlight and celebrate the most effective products and the most innovative, inspiring people.
“Research shows that a school’s culture has a profound impact on student learning, and schools around the country are seeing dramatic improvements after using the Kickboard school culture system,” said Kickboard CEO Stefan Kohler. “We’re honored to be recognized by the EdTech Digest Awards judges as an effective tool for improving classroom management, and we’re proud to help K-12 districts and schools transform their school culture into one that is consistently positive, measurable and successful.”
One such school district is St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS), which first piloted the Kickboard system in five schools. That school year the pilot schools saw substantial improvements. For example, at one school, the number of office referrals dropped from 250 per week to only 35 per week — an 86 percent decrease. Another one recorded an 84 percent decline in recess detentions, and a 64 percent drop in suspensions. Yet another reported that the number of suspensions fell from 48 in 2015 to only seven in 2016.
Ideal for Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning, and other culture-oriented programs, Kickboard’s total solution gives educational leaders and staff access to the tools and the professional support they need to plan for a successful school culture, establish school-wide systems to capture and use real-time culture data, and improve support systems for teachers and students.
