TDK Showcases New Power Solutions at APEC 2017

  • TDK, EPCOS and TDK-Lambda branded solutions span capacitors (e.g., film, multilayer ceramic and aluminum electrolytic), power inductors, piezo protection devices, magnetics and power supplies.
  • Features new power solutions to increase innovation for automotive, industrial, green energy and medical applications.

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.--()--TDK Corporation will present several new power solutions in Booth 601, APEC 2017, March 27-29, in the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, Florida.

These new products from the leading electronics company have been developed for engineers who design power and electronic systems, to help them accelerate innovation and drive advancements in the automotive (e.g., electric vehicles (EVs)/hybrids (HEVs)); industrial (e.g., robotics and automated manufacturing); green/renewable energy; and medical industries.

TDK product highlights include:

Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors for Automotive: The TDK C0G/1000V MLCCS of the CGA series are automotive grade, and are ideal for high-power circuits requiring stable capacitor performance.

Thin Film Low Profile Power Inductors with Low DCR: The TDK TFM-ALC series have high efficiency over a broad output current range, optimal for portable power applications and offer a solution for increasing space restrictions in portable power circuits along with tighter power loss requirements.

Helically Wound Power Inductors: The expanded EPCOS ERU series of SMT low profile power inductors include new 16mm and 19mm inductors, as well as existing product types including 13mm, 20mm and 25mm. They are suitable for high power industrial applications. Several sizes are AEC-Q200 qualified.

DC Link Capacitors: These EPCOS power capacitors are designed to meet the stringent demands of new generation semiconductor switching devices featuring higher bus voltages for better efficiency. For automotive design engineers working with power conversion in the 400V-1200V range, the PCC B25655 series is ideal. It features compact dimensions combined with low ESR and is one of the smallest in the market.

CeraLink™ Ceramic Capacitors: The low profile, compact, SMD (LP) series of TDK CeraLink capacitors are now available with a voltage of 900V DC and a capacitance of 0.25 µF. The new capacitors supplement the existing LP portfolio that includes types for 500V DC (1 µF) and 700V DC (0.5 µF). With their low parasitic effects, CeraLink capacitors are ideally suited for converter topologies on the basis of fast-switching semiconductors such as GaN or SiC.

Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors: These EPCOS high performance screw terminal type aluminum electrolytic capacitors feature a 40 percent higher ripple current capability than the previous series of the same size. The series is ideal for industrial applications, frequency converter, professional power supply, wind energy and uninterruptible power supplies.

QM7 Series Power Supply: TDK-Lambda is introducing the QM7 series of 1500W modular power supplies. They produce the lowest acoustic noise currently on the market for its power class. With full medical MoPPs isolation, and both medical and ITE safety certifications, this series fulfills the needs of many markets, including medical equipment, test, measurement, and industrial/factory automation.
