Globoforce Announces Emmy Award-Winning Actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Keynote Speaker for WorkHuman 2017 Conference

Star of “Seinfeld” and “Veep” joins roster of speakers promoting the importance of humanity in the workplace.

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. & DUBLIN--()--Globoforce®, a leading provider of social recognition solutions, today announced critically acclaimed actor, comedian and producer Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a keynote speaker for its WorkHuman® 2017 conference, May 30-June 1, in Phoenix, Ariz., at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort.

Louis-Dreyfus, who has earned worldwide recognition for her roles in the hit series “Seinfeld” and “Veep,” joins New York Times best-selling author and Quiet Revolution co-founder Susan Cain and top-ranked Wharton School professor and New York Times bestselling author Adam Grant as keynote speakers. The mission of the WorkHuman movement is to galvanize leaders and organizations worldwide to harness the transformative power of people for the next generation of HR. The annual event has grown exponentially in size since the inaugural event in 2015, and has featured some of the world’s most influential thought leaders and visionaries, including Arianna Huffington, renowned business thinker Gary Hamel, actor Michael J. Fox, and bestselling author Shawn Achor.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus earned worldwide acclaim and recognition for her portrayal of Elaine Benes in the hit NBC series "Seinfeld," as Christine Campbell in the CBS hit comedy "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and most recently as Vice President Selina Meyer in the HBO series "Veep." Between all shows combined, she has received eight Emmy awards with twenty-two nominations, a Golden Globe award with eight nominations, seven Screen Actors Guild awards with sixteen nominations, two Television Critics Association awards with three nominations, five American Comedy Awards with ten nominations, and has received the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.

Louis-Dreyfus has previously received critical acclaim for her starring role in Fox Searchlight's "Enough Said", opposite the late James Gandolfini, Catherine Keener and Toni Collette. This role snagged Julia a Golden Globe nomination - making her one of the elite few who have had the honor to be concurrently nominated for both a film and television role. Her other television credits include multiple appearances on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" which was co-created by Larry David of "Seinfeld," a recurring role on Matt Groening's “The Simpsons” on FOX, a recurring role in 2003 on Fox's critically acclaimed "Arrested Development," NBC's 2002 real-time sitcom "Watching Ellie," and the TNT animated film "Animal Farm" to which she lent her voice alongside Ian Holm, Kelsey Grammer and Patrick Stewart. Louis-Dreyfus first made her mark on television during a three-year stint (1982-1985) on "Saturday Night Live" opposite the likes of Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and Eddie Murphy. She subsequently hosted the show twice, becoming the first female former cast member to return as host.

Louis-Dreyfus is also a steadfast advocate for the environment, serving on the leadership council for the Natural Resource Defense Council and on the boards of Heal the Bay and Heal the Ocean. She studied theater at Northwestern University, where she performed as a member of The Practical Theater Company and Chicago’s famed Second-City comedy troupe.

At WorkHuman 2017, Louis-Dreyfus will draw from her vast body of work to emphasize the importance of communication, inclusion and culture in an age of the rapidly-evolving workplace. With a perspective that extends beyond the conventional office space, she’ll apply lessons learned from a successful career in acting and comedy to the goals of creating a happier, more productive workspace.

“As one of the great comedic actresses of our time, Julia understands how to embody unique, relatable and, most importantly, human traits that truly bring her characters to life,” said Eric Mosley, CEO of Globoforce. “Her work reminds us of the importance of authenticity and levity – characteristics that make us undeniably human. She is an inspiring addition to WorkHuman, and we are thrilled to share the stage with her in 2017.”
