HURON, Ohio--()--n2y, a leading developer of online education materials for students with special needs, will share its innovative products, tools and approaches in the Playground Display at the SXSWedu Conference & Festival 2017 in Austin, March 6-9. SXSWedu welcomed more than 7,500 attendees from around the world to last year’s event.

n2y is one of 19 organizations selected to be part of the 2017 SXSWedu Playground. Hosted by Oracle, the Playground provides a destination for attendees to explore, discover, participate and learn through displays, talks and hands-on presentations. The Playground displays will be up and running throughout the duration of the festival. This year’s displays will highlight educational pursuits including maker, STEM, gaming, virtual learning, arts integration, and accessibility.

“We are proud to be selected by SXSWedu to showcase our unique interactive learning materials for individuals with special needs,” said n2y President Chrissy Wostmann. “The philosophy at n2y is ‘technology and learning for everyone.’ It is about accessibility. Our standards-based materials and interactive products allow students with special needs to access the general curriculum and become connected to the world around them.”

Visitors to the n2y Playground display will be able to use tablets, whiteboards and computers to see how teachers who teach children with special needs use n2y’s interactive lessons, symbol-supported weekly online newspaper and proprietary symbol-based language to engage students with complex needs.

“n2y is on the cutting edge of special needs education, from pre-K to students who have transitioned out of the education system,” said Wostmann. “We believe our differentiated and standards-based instruction, tracking tools and interactive learning materials are the future of special education --- which makes SXSWedu the perfect place for us to be the week of March 6.”
