IASA Announces Keynote Speakers for 2017 Executive Education Roundtable Series

DURHAM, N.C. & ORLANDO, Fla.--()--IASA is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for the 2017 Executive Education Roundtable Series presented during the IASA Annual Educational Conference and Business Show taking place this June 4-7 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

The IASA Executive Education Roundtable Series is designed exclusively for the unique learning needs of insurance company senior leadership. These events are a “conference within a conference” during the IASA Annual Conference, and feature highly-knowledgeable speakers, timely content, interactive elements, and unparalleled opportunities for peer-to-peer networking. Individual events are held for Chief Information-Technology Officers (CI-TO), Chief Financial Officers (CFO), Chief Operating Officers (COO), and Chief Investment Officers (CIO) with content tailored to the specific needs and interests of each group. The programs provide actionable information which can be used to affect short-term and long-term business strategies for insurance companies across the country.

This year’s keynote speaker lineup features:

  • Chief Operating Officer Roundtable: “Leading Change through Applied Systems Thinking”
David Peter Stroh, author of Systems Thinking for Social Change: A Practical Guide for Solving Complex Problems, Avoiding Unintended Consequences, and Achieving Lasting Results, will discuss why organizations tend to resist leaders’ well-intentioned change initiatives, and will identify ways of applying systems to meet this challenge.
  • Chief Investment Officer Roundtable:
Dennis P. Lockhart, recently retired president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will discuss broad economic impacts, post-election concerns for insurance companies, the probable outlook for investment returns, and his views on future Federal Reserve actions.
  • Chief Financial Officer Roundtable: “Is Your Job Your 2nd Job?”
Fred Colon, Chief Diversity Officer for Travelers Insurance, will discuss the importance of leaders inviting differences into the room, and how a subtle shift in thinking can change everything.
  • Chief Information-Technology Officer Roundtable: “The End of Business as Usual”
Brian Solis, digital analyst, anthropologist, futurist, blogger and speaker, will take the audience through ways leadership can helps organizations survive Digital Darwinism by understanding customer and employee behavior and expectations, disruptive technology, innovative business models, and new opportunities.

“The challenges and opportunities facing insurance company leaders have changed significantly in the last couple of years,” said Rod Travers, EVP for Nolan Consulting and current IASA President. “These keynotes bring context to those issues, and they exemplify the quality and relevance of the senior executive content provided during the roundtable programs.”

The 2017 IASA Annual Educational Conference and Business Show promises to be one of the best yet, with more than 80 CPE-eligible educational sessions and nearly 200 product and service exhibitors filling the exhibit hall. The conference’s extensive networking opportunities offer numerous chances to get to know other insurance professionals and make “progress through sharing knowledge,” one of the association’s primary objectives.
