Freight Brokerage Technology Leader GlobalTranz Announces Record Growth and Profitability in 2016

PHOENIX--()--GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., a leading technology-driven freight management solution provider, today announced the company achieved record revenue and profitability in 2016, posting an 84% increase in EBITDA driven by strong year-over-year revenue growth. With a five-year CAGR of 32%, GlobalTranz has emerged as a market leader in technology-driven freight management and third-party logistics (3PL).

Over the past year, the company made several investments in executive management talent, including the appointment of Bob Farrell as chief executive officer, Greg Carter as chief technology officer, Jeff Simmons as general counsel and Leigh Ann Schneider as vice president of direct sales. GlobalTranz also made several moves demonstrating the company’s rapid growth and ongoing innovation, including acquiring Global Freight Source and opening a new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company has transformed its operations and expanded both its extensive freight agent network and its direct sales team, resulting in a more profitable business model that will further accelerate company growth.

“In 2016, we focused on creating process efficiencies across our business and leveraging our own technology to better serve our customers, carriers and freight agents,” said Renee Krug, chief financial officer of GlobalTranz. “This is having a positive effect on our financial performance, boosting our EBITDA significantly. We are extremely pleased with the results and expect our operational improvements will continue to yield benefits both financially and in our customer service levels.”

The company’s success was recognized by industry influencers, with GlobalTranz receiving the Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) Award for Fast Growth from the Phoenix Business Journal and landing at No. 12 in Transport Topics’ Largest Freight Brokerage firms in the U.S.

GlobalTranz is not slowing down in 2017, as evidenced by its recent announcements on the appointment of new executives to oversee carrier relations and freight agent acquisition. In addition, the firm is working on continued innovations in its technology platform and is actively pursuing a number of acquisition candidates to further drive strategic growth.

“GlobalTranz has great momentum right now,” said Bob Farrell, chief executive officer of GlobalTranz. “Our technology platform is bringing a new level of innovation to the freight brokerage market. Shippers, carriers and freight agents are responding to that by bringing their freight management business to GlobalTranz and looking to us to provide broader 3PL services.
