SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Blach Construction Company today revealed that Pat Quinn, director of client services, will be playing in the upcoming AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, February 9-12, as part of his role as board president of the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA).

To celebrate this incredible honor and give back to the game he enjoys, Pat formed “Quinn’s Brigade,” a fundraiser to benefit Youth on Course, one of his favorite organizations. Youth on Course was founded by the charitable arm of the NCGA, the NCGA Foundation, and is a nationally-heralded program that enables kids to play golf for $5 or less. In addition to his role on the NCGA Board, Pat serves on the board of the NCGA Foundation, where he has been intimately involved with Youth on Course since 2005.

Pat’s charitable efforts are completely aligned with Blach Construction’s dedication to philanthropy. “We are committed to enhancing the communities in which we live and work and that extends well beyond construction. Giving back is in our DNA,” said Mike Blach, president and CEO, Blach Construction. “It is particularly gratifying for me to see Blach employees use their talents and passions to make a difference. And Pat is doing just that through his tireless dedication to the NCGA, the NCGA Foundation and its remarkable Youth on Course program. We are excited to support 'Quinn’s Brigade' and help Pat make history at the 2017 AT&T.”

The core purpose of Youth on Course is to give kids access to life-changing opportunities through golf. Since its inception in 2005, the NCGA Foundation has partnered with more than 185 golf courses across 13 states, subsidizing rounds so that youth from 5-18 can play for $5 or less. More importantly, Youth on Course provides access to high school job opportunities via internship and caddie programs, and to higher education through college scholarships.

“For a lifelong golfer from the Bay Area, playing in the AT&T is a dream come true. But what’s equally as exciting is the fact that I’m able to use this experience to generate awareness and support for Youth on Course, a program that has been critically important to me since I joined the Board of the NCGA Foundation in 2005,” stated Pat.

“I’m fortunate. My father was an avid golfer, so I grew up playing the game. I got involved in Youth on Course because I wanted to share all golf has to offer with youngsters who wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to play,” he continued. “'Quinn’s Brigade' has gained more momentum than I ever imagined and we’ve raised over $240K – more than doubling our initial goal. And for this I’m honored and forever grateful.”

Playing for the Kids

“Quinn’s Brigade” is a day-into-evening event on Saturday, February 11. Starting with breakfast at Porter’s in the Forest, members of the Brigade will don their signature “PQ” vests and head out to follow Pat on the Pebble Beach Links. 19th hole festivities include a celebratory dinner hosted by Golf Channel travel expert Matt Ginella and prepared by famed chef Johnny De Vivo. All proceeds benefit Youth on Course.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, taking place February 6-12 at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, has become one of the most internationally recognized stops on the PGA TOUR. Started by Bing Crosby in 1937 to raise a little money for charity, it now is hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has given millions of dollars to dozens of organizations across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.
