UnitedHealthcare, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Washington State Partner to Address Youth Mental and Physical Health

  • UnitedHealthcare donated $40,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington State for healthy lifestyle behavior programs
  • Nearly 150 King County Club members received NERF ENERGY Game Kits to increase physical activity through “exergaming”

Cindy Spain, RN, Vice President of Health Services, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan; UnitedHealthcare mascot Dr. Health E. Hound; Rees Odhiambo, Seattle Seahawks Guard; and Nancy Giunto, Executive Director, Washington Health Alliance passed out 150 NERF ENERGY Game Kits to members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County this morning. The local youth were led through exercises and relays to test out their new NERF ENERGY Game Kit that tracks activity earning “energy points” in order to play the game. The donation is part of a recently launched national initiative and collaboration between Hasbro and UnitedHealthcare, featuring Hasbro’s NERF products that encourages young people to become more active through “exergaming.” L to R: Odhiambo, Dr. Health E. SEATTLE--()--Nearly 150 Boys & Girls Club members received NERF ENERGY Game Kits from UnitedHealthcare. The donation is part of a recently launched national initiative and collaboration between Hasbro and UnitedHealthcare, featuring Hasbro’s NERF products, that encourages young people to become more active through “exergaming.” UnitedHealthcare Community Plan also presented a $40,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs programs in Washington state to create a fund aimed at fostering healthy lifestyle behavior among Washington youth.
