PLAINVILLE, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (Loureiro) has acquired the assets of DiCesare-Bentley Engineers, Inc. (DBEI). Headquartered in Plainville, Conn., with offices in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C., Loureiro is an employee-owned, full-service multi-disciplinary firm providing engineering, environmental health and safety, energy, facility, waste management consulting and construction services, and laboratory analytical services.
Jeff Loureiro, Loureiro CEO, stated: “We believe recent attention to coastal (and flood-prone inland) area flooding caused by an increasingly chaotic climate, will give rise to significant long term demand from public and private clients for a variety of coastal engineering and related construction/remediation services. We will build upon our experience and that of DBEI to create a division specializing in engineering, environmental, and related construction/remediation services aimed at addressing flood protection, seawalls and other waterfront structures, and contaminated sediment remediation, among other issues.”
Michael Scanlon, principal of DBEI, added: “This is an exciting time and we are pleased to be part of the Loureiro team and capitalize on new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding existing relationships.” Clinton Brown, also a principal of DBEI, stated: “While providing the same quality service with similar philosophies, Loureiro brings additional resources that will allow us to deliver a broader suite of services, as well as deliver our core services more efficiently.”
The acquisition adds depth to Loureiro’s portfolio of services and supports its strategic growth initiatives. Not only does it expand the company’s presence in Connecticut’s coastal market, it brings significant engineering and survey resources to support industrial, commercial, institutional and residential projects in coastal and flood-prone inland areas.
“For success over the long term, we must continually grow our businesses, not only by increasing market share for our current service offerings, but also through new service offerings. We are excited by this opportunity to continue that tradition,” said Loureiro.
Founded in 1975, Loureiro has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to identify new ways to differentiate itself from traditional A&E firms, guiding clients through all phases of projects, from concept, planning and detailed design to construction, annual maintenance and decommissioning.
