ProtectWise Partners with Gigamon to Deliver Superior Visibility, Threat Detection and Response

Strategic Integration Will Ease IaaS Network Traffic Analysis Pain Points for Customers’ AWS-based Deployments

LAS VEGAS--()--AWS RE:INVENT-- ProtectWise, provider of a new utility model for enterprise security that delivers pervasive visibility, automated threat detection and deep forensic exploration on-demand and entirely from the cloud, today announced a new partnership and strategic technology integration with Gigamon, the leader in traffic visibility solutions. The lack of visibility into cloud activity is one of the most pressing cloud security challenges today. An integration between the Gigamon Visibility Platform for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and The ProtectWise Grid™ makes it significantly easier to address the visibility gap resulting from moving workloads to the cloud.

In addition to making it easier to get visibility into threats in the cloud, the integration between Gigamon and ProtectWise also enables organizations to retain a long term memory of the enterprise’s network activity in the cloud. With ProtectWise, enterprises can now build overarching security programs that provide analysts with a single interface - stretching from within enterprises networks all the way across private and public cloud infrastructures - for gaining visibility into threats and performing retrospective analysis.

“There are unique challenges to figuring out how threats are evolving in the cloud. Enterprise workloads are continually spun up, moved and torn down, and staggering amounts of information needs to be analyzed to detect threats,” said Ramon Peypoch, Chief Product Officer, ProtectWise. “By integrating with the Gigamon Visibility Platform for AWS, ProtectWise removes a significant hurdle to cloud visibility and enables companies to use the power of The ProtectWise Grid™ to securely scale business operations without compromising visibility, detection and incident response activities.”

“The joint solution with ProtectWise helps us to ensure we are addressing the evolving visibility, detection and response challenges of our customers who rely on AWS as a cornerstone for maintaining the flexibility and vitality of their business,” said Ananda Rajagopal, VP, Product Line Management at Gigamon. ”The ProtectWise Grid allows anyone using the Gigamon Visibility Platform for AWS to quickly and easily discover evidence of attacks in the cloud while retaining essentially unlimited forensics for threat hunting in the future.”

ProtectWise and Gigamon are working together to continue to enhance the value to customers from this partnership. As Gigamon adds support for additional IaaS providers, ProtectWise customers will be able to secure their organizations faster by using the network traffic data collected in Gigamon for threat detection. ProtectWise also integrates with the rest of Gigamon’s GigaSECURE® Secure Delivery Platform, enabling support for the full range of products provided by Gigamon. The partnership with Gigamon, along with others such as AWS, Carbon Black, Palo Alto Networks, and VMWare, demonstrates ProtectWise’s commitment to The ProtectWise Grid being an open platform and becoming the default cloud-based investigative platform.
