Collective Health Appoints Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Success

Roy Gilbert and Jeff Hermosillo Join a Diverse Leadership Team as Collective Health Doubles its Membership to 70,000 Lives

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Enterprise health insurance software and services leader Collective Health today announced it has appointed Roy Gilbert as chief operating officer and Jeff Hermosillo as senior vice president of sales and customer success to its leadership team. The announcement comes at a time of significant growth for Collective Health—the company has more than doubled the number of lives on its platform in the past year and now takes care of 70,000 members from 15 enterprise clients. Since 2015, the Collective Health team has grown by eighty percent to nearly 250 employees and moved its headquarters from San Mateo to San Francisco, California.

Mr. Gilbert brings deep experience building, growing, and managing global organizations for Google where he led global user operations to his role as chief operating officer at Collective Health. At Google, his role spanned 10 countries where he was responsible for mission-critical operations across multiple business units supporting the business and Google's billions of users. Directly prior to joining Collective Health, Mr. Gilbert was an executive in residence with venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and also served as chief executive to two education startups, Learnist and Grockit. Mr. Gilbert started his career as a lieutenant commander in the Submarine Force for the U.S. Navy where he managed daily operations of a $1.3 billion nuclear submarine. He received an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BS in Computer Science from the U.S. Naval Academy.

In his role as senior vice president of sales and customer success for Collective Health, Mr. Hermosillo brings more than 20 years of sales management and customer service experience, including executive leadership roles with the nation’s top managed care organizations: Blue Shield of California, UnitedHealth Group and Kaiser Permanente. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Hearst Health’s Milliman Care Guidelines Division and led both its domestic and international sales and marketing functions. In his role, Mr. Hermosillo was responsible for growing top line revenue and increasing MCG’s market share for both the provider and health plan business segments. He is a graduate of Stanford University.
