Acxiom Chief Privacy Officer Emeritus Jennifer Barrett Glasgow Receives 2016 Silver Apple Award

Former Top Privacy Executive Recognized by Direct Marketing Club of New York

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--()--Acxiom® (NASDAQ:ACXM), the data foundation for the world’s best marketers, today announced Acxiom Chief Privacy Officer Emeritus Jennifer Barrett Glasgow has received the 2016 Silver Apple Award from the Direct Marketing Club of New York (DMCNY). Honored last night at an awards ceremony in Manhattan’s Edison Ballroom, Glasgow was recognized for making outstanding contributions to the growth and practice of direct, digital and data-driven marketing during her career.

“In her trailblazing role as our top privacy executive for more than two decades, Jennifer advanced the governance of ethical data use at Acxiom and beyond,” said Jerry Jones, EVP and chief ethics and legal officer at Acxiom. “As a result of her vision and leadership, Acxiom’s global data protection program became the industry benchmark and continues to be to this day. We are thrilled to see her contributions to Acxiom and the marketing industry recognized by the DMCNY.”

Under Glasgow’s leadership, Acxiom has established a long and proven history of delivering solutions to the marketplace that include protections for consumer data. She is recognized as the profession’s first chief privacy officer, serving in this capacity at Acxiom since 1991. Responsible for leading Acxiom’s global public policy and fair information practices, Glasgow developed the company’s global approach to information governance, compliance with legal regulations and industry guidelines, consumer affairs, government affairs and related public relations.

In January 2016, she transitioned to emeritus status and continues to advise Acxiom on various strategic initiatives. Glasgow continues to actively consult with clients and advise policy makers and government agencies about the ethical use of information. She currently serves as vice chairman on the Data & Marketing Association’s (DMA) board of directors and as a member of its Privacy Shield Arbitration Committee.

The DMCNY’s past presidents chose the 2016 Silver Apple recipients. Criteria stipulate that recipients must have at least 25 years’ experience in the business, a commitment to volunteerism and leadership and a record of vital contributions to the growth of the industry. Since 1985, a total of 232 individuals and 20 companies have received DMCNY Silver Apple honors – with this year’s six individuals and one corporation joining the field.
