LELAND, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Harrington Village Holdings, LLC led by D Logan of Logan Homes and the Town of Leland celebrate the groundbreaking for Harrington Village and Harrington Square, a first of its kind upscale urban town center retail and residential development inside the city limits of Leland.
The new $32 million, 19-acre development sits just north of Village Road on one of the most traveled intersections in the area with more than 60,000 cars passing the location every day.
The development represents the largest amount of commercial space to be constructed within the city of Leland in the last twenty years. City leaders believe this project will draw similar type projects to the area and that the Harrington project is a catalyst to the redevelopment of the entire Village Road corridor.
Harrington Village and Harrington Square is the first development to be built under Leland’s new FlexCode. The FlexCode was created to help the city develop a traditional, walking downtown that would rival similar town centers like those in neighboring New Hanover County: Mayfaire Town Centre and Lumina Station.
The residential component of the new development, Harrington Village, will offer 309 garden-style one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments along with a high-end amenity package that includes a pool, fitness area, amenity club building, playground and neighborhood dog park.
Harrington Square, the retail offering in the development, consists of approximately 30,000 SF of retail/office space.

The groundbreaking ceremony is open to the public and will take place at 10:00 A.M. on location at Harrington Square, 214 Village Road, Leland.
