BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Shields Health Care Group (Shields) today announced that New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady will appear in upcoming television advertisements that will be airing across New England.
The commercial was directed by Massachusetts resident and ardent Patriots fan Bobby Farrelly of the Farrelly brothers, the writer and director of many well-known Hollywood comedies, including There’s Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber. The four-time Super Bowl champion Brady and Farrelly filmed the advertisement for Shields in September.
Shields is the official MRI provider of the Patriots (and has been for 15 years). The endorsement is one of few that Brady has ever done for a locally-owned business and the advertisements will run strictly in New England media markets.
“I have been extremely fortunate over the years to be surrounded by professionals of the highest quality – the best coaches, teammates and trainers. And my approach to health care is no different – I want the best there is,” said Brady. “Shields MRI has been a great partner for me over the years because they provide exceptional service.”
The ad features Brady in a Shields facility lobby being asked to remove any jewelry he may have on – a familiar experience for people getting MRIs. Brady proceeds to remove his four Super Bowl rings and when asked if there is anything else, he says, “Not yet.”
“Tom Brady, quite simply, is the greatest of all time,” said Farrelly, who directed Brady before when he made a cameo in a Farrelly movie, Stuck on You. “Any commercial director would jump at the opportunity to work with him. The fact that this a rare local spot for him speaks volumes about his respect and affinity for Shields. Go Pats!"
Shields celebrates its thirtieth anniversary this year and is embarking on a major expansion both of its service lines and of its footprint beyond Massachusetts to other New England states, including Maine and New Hampshire. In 2016, Shields has entered a number of new partnerships with community hospitals and other health care providers in Massachusetts as it expands its imaging offering and enters new business lines. New partners include Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Signature Healthcare in Brockton, Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport and Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.
“We’re honored Tom has chosen us to be one of his only local endorsements in recent years. There could be no one better to tell the story of our work than Tom Brady as we expand in New England. We’re proud to be the official MRI provider of the Patriots and privileged Tom chose Shields,” said Shields Health Care Group CEO Tom Shields. “Having Bobby Farrelly bring the ad to life made it a fun way to reach New England residents and let them know we are the high quality value provider of imaging and health care services.”
The advertisements will first appear during the NFL primetime game on Thursday, October 6 and will run in New England TV markets during local sporting events, as well as other times.
