Ntrepid Reveals Technical Advisory Board for Passages

Diverse Group of Industry Security Experts and Leading Academia Tapped to Drive Innovation

HERNDON, Va.--()--Ntrepid Corporation, a provider of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions, today made public the membership of the Technical Advisory Board for its secure virtual web browser, Passages. Passages, under development for two years and designed to dramatically decrease the risks of the Internet browser for government and government contractors, was released in December 2015. In creating the Technical Advisory Board, Ntrepid sought to aggressively challenge the Passages development team and drive cybersecurity and functionality improvements by bringing together a distinguished group of cybersecurity experts and visionaries.

“This board was born out of a desire to stay at the forefront of innovation and their work with us has been impressive,” stated Richard Helms, Founder and Chief Executive at Ntrepid. “While Passages provides a seamless transition to secure browsing with a near-zero learning curve, technology is ever changing and we wanted to make sure we kept pace with today’s growing threats. Each one of these outside advisors brings unique expertise to the table and plays a pivotal role in insuring Passages remains at the top of affordable browser security offerings unique to government security requirements.”

Passages allows users to navigate and browse the Internet without fear of picking up malware or putting infrastructure and data at risk, and will benefit greatly from the board’s collective insight. As stated by Marcus Ranum, an Advisory Board member, “Ntrepid's approach addresses one of the big challenges in sandboxed/containerized browsing: how to maintain user state without having a vulnerable updateable environment on the desktop.” By eliminating malware entering through the browser CIOs should see dramatic reductions in personnel costs associated with analyzing their network, finding malware and reimaging infected machines.

“Wandering around the Internet is like driving without a seatbelt. I like Passages because it helps you from being thrown into your Windows,” said Yanek Korff, another Advisory Board member. “In a Security Operations Center, you’re in the business of poking around the darker corners of the Internet. Finding safe Passages through this protects not only yourself, but also your customers. I am impressed with the Ntrepid team’s focus on protecting the end users while providing as simple a solution to use as possible.”

Each member of the Board was selected for their unique skill sets and backgrounds that have made them leaders in their fields. In addition to driving innovation and improving security characteristics, Ntrepid will leverage the board’s vast experience to ensure Passages remains user friendly and aligns with today’s modern business practices.

The Technical Advisory Board consists of five industry pundits:

  • Gary McGraw (Chairman) – CTO, Cigital
