BARRINGTON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The leading innovator of entrepreneurship programs that are reinventing business/entrepreneurship education – INCubatoredu – is combining with Mobile Makers Academy in a newly named not-for-profit organization called Uncharted Learning.
The organization was announced today by INCubatoredu’s co-founder Michael Miles, who said Uncharted Learning is positioned to advance entrepreneurship education with new and highly experiential programs.
Mobile Makers Academy provides students and teachers with training in mobile app development using Apple's newest coding language, Swift. These modern and highly relevant technical abilities prepare students for today's workforce.
“We are excited to join forces with Mobile Makers Academy and to add their expertise in building student literacy in coding mobile apps,” said Michael Miles. “Innovative mobile apps are redefining entrepreneurial businesses with new and powerful tools to address everyday needs. We expect this addition to our portfolio to be wildly popular with administrators and students,” Miles added.
Uncharted Learning’s K-12 offerings will include INCubatoredu’s entrepreneurship programs as well as Mobile Makers’ iOS coding programs.
INCubatoredu is a popular program that provides students with an authentic entrepreneurship experience aimed at developing new product and service innovations. Student teams compete to take a business idea from concept to successful funding in a learning incubator environment designed to replicate real entrepreneurship challenges.
Similarly, Mobile Makers provides students with programming and problem-solving skills used by professional software developers. Students build more than 10 working mobile apps throughout the course.
Uncharted Learning programs are now available to more than 3,500 students in more than 85 schools across ten states, including Illinois, Colorado, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Ohio.
