T-MOBILE LISTENS TO CUSTOMERS – AMPS UP T-MOBILE ONE AND DOUBLES DOWN ON UNLIMITED
T-Mobile ONE now comes with 4x faster unlimited mobile hotspot data.
On the heels of Un-carrier 12 news, T-Mobile saw its highest August retail and digital traffic week ever!
Celebrates by announcing T-Mobile ONE Plus with unlimited high-speed mobile hotspot data, unlimited HD Day Passes, and 2x faster speeds when traveling abroad.
T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) today proved once again why it’s the Un-carrier by doing something the carriers would never do – actually listening to customers and taking quick and decisive action.
Less than two weeks ago, T-Mobile sent shockwaves through the wireless industry announcing Un-carrier 12 and declaring an end to the era of the data plan. The company introduced T-Mobile ONE and eradicated the biggest wireless pain point yet – the data bucket. T-Mobile CEO John Legere announced that the company is going ALL IN on unlimited and giving customers exactly what they really want from a wireless provider. As a result, consumer interest in the Un-carrier is at an all-time high and the company had the highest August week of retail visitors and digital traffic in its history!
T-Mobile ONE is a precedent-crushing, unlimited-everything offer that marks the end of traditional wireless rate plans as we know them. It is a radically simple subscription to the mobile Internet at one low price. Everyone gets unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited high-speed 4G LTE smartphone data on the fastest LTE network in America. No more guessing how much data you need and then using too much or too little. With T-Mobile ONE, even video is unlimited at standard definition so you can stream all you want.
Today, T-Mobile is amping things up by quadrupling the speeds for mobile hotspot data on the T-Mobile ONE plan and introducing new 24 hour high-definition (HD) Day Passes. But the company is not stopping there. The Un-carrier is also introducing T-Mobile ONE Plus for customers who want faster mobile hotspot data, faster speeds when traveling and want to stream unlimited HD video. T-Mobile is the first and only wireless provider to offer unlimited high speed mobile hotspot data.
“We’ve ended data buckets, gone unlimited and now we’re amping up T-Mobile ONE to make it even better,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “Listening to customers is at the core of the Un-carrier. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the best way to run your company is to shut up, listen to your customers, and then do what they say! That simple formula has made T-Mobile the fastest growing wireless company in the US for three years running.”
Making T-Mobile ONE Even Better with 4x Faster Unlimited Mobile Hotspot Data
Customers spoke and we listened! Smartphones and tablets shouldn’t have data limits, even when you’re using them as mobile hotspots. That’s why T-Mobile is eliminating data buckets and quadrupling mobile hotspot speeds. Now, T-Mobile ONE mobile hotspot data speeds will be 3G (up from 128kbps to 512kbps) for everyone. Customers can use their mobile hotspot to check email, share files, check the news or watch their favorite YouTube videos – all without fear, without limits and without data buckets. It’s ALL unlimited on America’s fastest 4G LTE network.
T-Mobile ONE HD Day Passes
The Un-carrier also announced plans to offer Unlimited high-definition (HD) Day Passes to T-Mobile ONE customers - for just $3.00 per day. All the HD video streaming you want, whenever you need it. Customers asked for HD video options and T-Mobile is delivering. Buy a 24-hour HD Day Pass and you are all set for as much HD video as you want in 24 hours! We’re offering customers more choices for their most common HD video usage scenarios. The Un-carrier listens! T-Mobile ONE HD Day Passes will be available in October, stay tuned for details.
Introducing T-Mobile ONE Plus
T-Mobile is introducing a premium connectivity add-on called T-Mobile ONE Plus. It’s an upgrade for power users and for customers who simply want more. T-Mobile ONE Plus comes with:
- Unlimited high-speed 4G LTE mobile hotspot data. Now, customers don’t have to count gigs when connecting another device to their phone or tablet on T-Mobile’s network. While T-Mobile ONE is designed primarily for use directly on smartphones and tablets, some customers use these devices as hotspots and now they can browse the web, snap, gram, post and stream a movie to a laptop or the big screen at high-speeds, without fear of exceeding a data bucket.
- Unlimited HD Day Passes. Want to stream HD video? Toggle it on for 24 hours whenever you want. Every day, once a week or once a month – it’s up to you! All the HD video you want, whenever you want it, to binge watch your favorite series, have a movie night with the family or just watch unlimited pet videos from YouTube.
- 2x faster speeds abroad. Already, T-Mobile ONE comes with Simple Global – which includes free data roaming in 140+ countries and destinations. Customers with the new T-Mobile One Plus will get the same awesome global connection at twice the speed, up to 3G speeds wherever available.
T-Mobile ONE Plus will be available for an additional $25 per line, per month, making T-Mobile the first and only provider to offer both unlimited high speed mobile hotspots and an unlimited LTE tablet plan. T-Mobile ONE Plus will be available on September 1.
Coming Sooner!
T-Mobile ONE will now unleash unlimited to consumers on September 1 – five days earlier than previously announced. That’s five fewer days customers will have to spend guessing how many gigs they need, counting their gigs, policing their family’s use of shared gigs, and worrying about using too many or too few of their gigs. R.I.P. data plans.
And, for existing T-Mobile customers, the Un-carrier is standing by its Un-contract – the company’s long-held commitment that only customers should have the power to change their plans, not wireless companies. Existing T-Mobile Simple Choice customers can keep their plan as long as they want and we won’t raise your rates.

Like with every plan, customers who use more data than 97% of our customers (currently over 26 GB per month) will have their usage prioritized below other traffic and may notice slower speeds during times and places of congestion. See T-Mobile.com/OpenInternet for details on data prioritization.
Video typically streams on your smartphone/tablet at DVD quality (480p) with T-Mobile One and One Plus unless you use an HD Day pass.
