Pavia Systems Introduces First-of-its Kind Peer-to-Peer E-Construction Resources Database

The directory is designed for construction professionals to share information

SEATTLE--()--Pavia Systems, a software company specializing in creating technology for organizations in the transportation infrastructure industry, today unveiled its cutting-edge, construction industry resource database called “Peer-to-Peer Directory of e-Construction Practitioners”. As a service to the transportation community, Pavia has assembled this freely available database to connect community members with peers willing to share their experiences about the various e-Construction tools and methodologies they use.

Pavia Systems’ HeadLight software is a form of e-Construction; it allows highway construction inspectors to collect real-time data with photo and video capabilities, track equipment and personnel in the field, upload reference files, and flag areas of on-site concern in real-time. HeadLight allows construction professionals across the industry to perform project tasks and inspections in a more effective and less-costly way. Pavia Systems collaborated with industry experts to develop the HeadLight software solution as a tool for field inspectors to increase productivity and prevent losses. The product addresses the current labor intensive issues and challenges facing many state departments of transportation today.

“We understand the vast efficiencies that e-Construction tools and technologies bring to the construction industry,” said Si Katara, President and Co-Founder. “This database allows transportation professionals to connect with experts who can assist them through the journey of e-Construction adoption.”

In a recent survey commissioned by Pavia Systems, results indicated that 39 percent of industry professionals learn about new e-Construction management tools through word of mouth. While word-of-mouth may suit industry insiders in some cases, many professionals exploring e-Construction for the first time don’t know whom to turn to with questions, which was the basis for creating this database.

“There are a tremendous number of pathways an agency can take when implementing e-Construction initiatives,” explained Derek Case, PE, Assistant State Construction Engineer, Washington State Department of Transportation. “The ability to quickly identify and connect with peers who have gone before you allows you to focus your efforts and save considerable time you’d otherwise spend chasing your tail.”

Companies often underestimate what is needed to help individuals within their organizations to adopt and use chosen technologies. Pavia Systems offers full service, end-to-end implementation and change management support for clients just starting on e-Construction. Their Customer Experience team has considerable experience helping organizations implement successful digitized project inspection programs across North America with highly specialized trainers and consultants who have a background in civil engineering.
