SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the Gartner Catalyst Conference, Ping Identity®, the leader in Identity Defined Security, today announced enhancements to the Ping Identity Platform with new Contextual Access Management capabilities to help enterprises undergo digital transformation and accelerate cloud and mobile initiatives. This gives enterprises security that reacts dynamically to location, device, and network ensuring only the right people have access to the right applications and data. Enterprises looking to modernize their Web Access Management solutions to secure APIs, cloud and mobile apps, will benefit from dynamic access policy support, simplified administration, strengthened security and broader integrations with more enterprise infrastructure environments.
Ping Identity and UnboundID at Gartner Catalyst, San Diego
Ping is a sponsor at the Catalyst event, August 15-18, in San Diego. Ping will be at Booth #600. Patrick Harding, Ping’s CTO, will present on Tuesday, August 16 at 10am PT, on “The Greatest Opportunity in Identity: Solving Customer Identity and Access Management.” Ping recently announced the acquisition of UnboundID, a market leader in customer identity and access management. UnboundID is also at Catalyst, in booth #519.
As enterprises make the shift to digital business by investing more resources toward cloud, mobile and APIs technologies, their security architecture must evolve to serve an increasingly sophisticated IT environment. Identity and access management is a critical layer of a modern security architecture for allowing employees, partner organizations and customers secure access to any app, using any device, anytime.
“We want to remove the security roadblocks companies face operating in a digital-first world, like ensuring employees have immediate access to the applications and resources to get their work done, and these new enhancements to the Ping Identity Platform satisfy those requirements,” said Trevor Daughney, vice president of product marketing, Ping Identity. “We continue to deliver battle-tested features and more integrations for enterprises to extend their security investments.”
"The Ping Identity Platform delivers an easy-to-use, secure and seamless experience for our global workforce," said Ranjan Jain, Security Architect, Cisco Systems Inc. "Ping's approach and focus on complex business needs of the enterprise are a good fit for Cisco's IT team."
Updates to the Ping Identity Platform in this release include:
Context-Sensitive Access Management for Web, Mobile and APIs
Today, many enterprises cannot implement access policies that leverage user, device and application context, which inhibits their ability to reliably authenticate mobile users. To address this challenge, Ping extended its advanced policy support in PingFederate and PingAccess to OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0 standards, both recognized as API-friendly and usable by native, mobile and web applications. This support enables businesses to make crucial policy decisions about the identity of their users and determine if they are authorized based on contextual information such as location, device, and network.
Simplified Administration for a More Complex Environment
Simplified administration leads to better policy execution, and lowers IT costs, overhead and the risk of a security breach. This new release simplifies administrative processes via self-service password management, expanded APIs, centralized session timeouts across on premises and cloud environments and script-less policy creation for advanced rules in PingAccess.
Strengthened Security for a Broader Set of Enterprise Infrastructures
Ping added several features to strengthen the overall security for Ping customers across a variety of environments and decrease the risk of breaches. MFA is now supported via a new PingID desktop application for Windows and Mac desktops adding to an extensive list of supported platforms and technologies for MFA including a mobile app, sms, voice, email and Yubikey, VPN, SSH, and RDP. Ping also added PingAccess agent support for IBM HTTP servers
"Ping is a major player in the cloud IAM market, and its PingAccess product is clearly positioned as a replacement for legacy web access management (WAM) products," said Martin Kuppinger, Founder and Principal Analyst at KuppingerCole. "Together with PingFederate, PingAccess provides an enterprise-grade Web Access Management solution that provides a lightweight approach for supporting more complex use cases, policies and integrations. Ping is one of the most mature vendor of comprehensive IAM products that blur the distinction between cloud or on-premise software."
