Foxwoods Resort Casino Reports July 2016 Slot Revenue

MASHANTUCKET, Conn.--()--Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $44.2 million for the month of July 2016. This figure is down 0.6 percent compared to $44.5 million in July of 2015. Handle for the month was $563.3 million, up 1.8 percent from the $553.3 million wagered in the same month in 2015.

Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in July 2016 is $11.3 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.

July at Foxwoods opened with a bang as Patricia Elliott of Elmont, NY won the $1,000,000 jackpot at Foxwoods’ annual Firecracker Bingo tournament, which also marked the 30th anniversary of the property’s historic bingo hall.

The entertainment slate sizzled with performances from rock and roll superstars Hollywood Vampires – a super-group featuring Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry – as well as Foreigner and the dynamic duo of Jeff Beck & Buddy Guy. The good times rolled on as folk legend Bob Dylan, who played alongside former flame Mavis Staples, neo-soul pioneer Maxwell and jazz star George Benson rounded out the musical talent on-property in July.

Laughs were in abundance at Foxwoods with shows from comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Nick Swardson and comedy troupe The Impractical Jokers starring The Tenderloins. Celebrity DJ Pauly D also brought the heat at Liquid Sundays, the Northeast’s only Vegas-style pool party.

Boston received some Foxwoods magic as rising Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation stars Asia and Kiona Carter represented the Tribal Nation by singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park on Connecticut Day. Chairman Rodney Butler joined the festivities, throwing a perfect strike for the ceremonial first pitch.

August is already off to a sensational start with shows in the books from comedians Hannibal Buress and Wanda Sykes, as well as pop standouts 98 Degrees, O-Town, Dream and Ryan Cabrera who came to Foxwoods as part of the MY2K Tour. Not to be outdone, superstar country group Lady Antebellum and pop rockers Phillip Phillips and Matt Nathanson recently wowed guests at the state-of-the-art Grand Theater with a pair of unforgettable musical performances.

Cirque Éloize is currently in the midst of a 10-day, 12-show residency for their latest show, Saloon, a family-friendly, intoxicating adventure told through dazzling acrobatics and spell-binding musical numbers.

Guests in August can still look forward to shows from The SUPERNATURALISTS, Criss Angel’s team of mind-blowing illusionists and unbeatable comedy spouses Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly, who will be performing together at the Grand Theater. To cap off a great month, UCONN basketball coach Kevin Ollie will be hosting the Kevin Ollie Charity Classic to promote sport for people with disabilities.
