Qualtrics Takes Major Step Toward FedRAMP Compliance

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Qualtrics, the world’s leading insight platform, today announced that it has reached a significant milestone in the rigorous process of obtaining Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) compliance. Qualtrics is now listed as “In-Process” by FedRAMP, and the company’s efforts to gain FedRAMP compliance at the moderate level are being sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

With this announcement, Qualtrics becomes the first insight software company to achieve “In-Process” status for FedRAMP compliance at any level, marking a major milestone in Qualtrics' broader public sector strategy.

“The Qualtrics Insight Platform has been architected as the world’s most useful and powerful cloud platform, and this news is a huge step toward making it more accessible to public agencies and departments,” said Ryan Smith, cofounder and CEO of Qualtrics. “Being accredited by FedRAMP, with one of the world’s most comprehensive set of security controls, validates the security of the entire Qualtrics organization.”

Qualtrics offers government agencies a next-generation platform to collect and analyze citizen, employee, and community feedback to improve public services, public safety, engagement and quality of life for both citizens and public sector employees.

The Qualtrics Insight Platform enables multiple departments to collect and analyze insights within a single enterprise platform, allowing all levels of an agency or department immediate access to vital decision data in real time. This saves an estimated 30-40 percent of government costs, while reducing the time and staff required to conduct redundant agency security assessments for cloud products and services in government use.

FedRAMP is a U.S. federal government-wide program created to bring the benefits of cloud programs to federal workers while mitigating security threats through rigorous protocols. FedRAMP provides a standard U.S. government approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

The FedRAMP program is the result of a close collaboration between cybersecurity and cloud experts from private industry and the U.S. government, including the General Services Administration, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Office of Management and Budget, the Federal CIO Council and its working groups.

The collaborative’s stated goals and benefits include: driving adoption of secure cloud solutions; increasing confidence in the security of cloud solutions and in security assessments; saving significant cost, time and resources; and improving real-time security visibility.
