FARNBOROUGH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Parker Aerospace, a business segment of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH), the global leader in motion and control technologies, today announced a new family of cooling pumps featuring a common core of basic motor and pump components. The pump reduces the need for recurring and non-recurring costs, shortens development schedules, and supports low-production volume, while still addressing a wide variety of critical customer cooling requirements.
The Parker pumps are compatible with a variety of dielectric fluids including PAO, Fuel, Galden, and turbine engine oils. The pumps are available in fixed or variable speed configurations to accommodate a variety of flow rates. Both AC and DC motor configurations are available as 115Vac at 400hz, 28 Vdc, or 270 Vdc.
In addition, the pump package incorporates a wet-motor design that allows the fluid to extract heat from the electronics or the sensor suite, while also removing heat from the pump motor itself. This feature is especially important in aircraft applications and installations that require low convective or conductive heat dissipation within enclosed or confined areas.
The customizable nature of the new pumps allow customers to apply the pump to more types of applications and with lower costs. The modular design supports shorter development schedules that have become more common in the aerospace industry.
“Our business objective is to provide the most cost-effective modular cooling pump customized package for a variety of thermal management applications for any customer requirement, on-time and on-budget,” noted Parker Business Development Manager Richard Mossey.
