BTS & EIU Release Research Report Revealing Collaboration as a Critical Driver of Business Success

NEW YORK--()--BTS, a leading global strategy implementation firm, today announced the release of a new research report, Fostering Collaboration, conducted by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and sponsored by BTS. Data for this research was collected in March 2016 through a global survey of 249 executives, senior leaders and managers. The research assesses how and why companies collaborate internally, the barriers they face to doing so and how internal collaboration builds strategic alignment and drives business results.

Prior studies conducted by the EIU and sponsored by BTS have revealed collaboration to be the number one barrier to effective strategy execution and a key element in gaining buy-in to strategy. The new research reveals that effective intra-organizational collaboration is indeed a hallmark of top-performing organizations. Some of these key findings include:

  • Organizations that lead their industry by market share more often report that collaboration is practiced routinely than do those firms with average or below-average market share
  • Top-performing companies collaborate more effectively at all levels of their organization, from the C-Suite to middle managers to line employees
  • Top-performing companies build a culture that strongly believes in the benefits of collaboration, and create an environment for all employees in which collaboration is both easy and rewarded
  • 77% of executives from the largest-sized organizations say that collaboration will increase in importance in the next three to five years

“The findings from the research highlight the importance of building a strong belief in the value of collaborating and fostering an environment in which collaboration is both recognized and rewarded,” says Rommin Adl, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Marketing. “We value the opportunity to work together with The Economist Intelligence Unit as it enables us to offer powerful research in strategy alignment, business acumen, leadership and other areas that are highly important and relevant to our clients’ strategy execution and talent development needs.”

The research report can be found here.
