Kopin Corporation Hires Director of Business Development for Defense Applications

Position Created to Address Expanding Interest in Kopin’s Technology

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--()--Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ:KOPN) a leading developer of innovative wearable computing technologies and solutions, today announced the hiring of Mr. Harry Buchanan as the Company’s Director of Business Development, focusing on emerging applications in the defense market and reporting to Mr. Bill Maffucci, Vice President/General Manager - Government Programs.

Buchanan is an industry veteran, with more than 24 years experience working with defense contractors in engineering, program management and business development roles. His background includes extensive experience in the development and production of wearable, hand-held and rifle-mounted night vision systems, as well as optics for a variety of head-mounted and hand-held surveillance and targeting systems.

Mr. Buchanan has worked on night vision systems since 1992 at ITT, with his last position as Business Development Manager for all of ITT Exelis’ Army and Marine Corps business. Most recently Buchanan was the North American Business Development Manager for Excelitas Technologies, representing their Qioptiq Division’s optics product line. Mr. Buchanan holds a B.S. in Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
