The Honorable Anthony J. Principi Has Joined The SPECTRUM Group as Chairman

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--The SPECTRUM Group (TSG) is pleased to announce that the Honorable Anthony J. Principi has joined its firm as Chairman. Secretary Principi’s vast experience in the Cabinet of two Presidents, as chief counsel and staff director of two U.S. Senate Committees, and broad private sector experience including leading Pfizer’s Washington D.C. office, make him an invaluable member of TSG and the right choice to be our new Chairman.

“Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company and we are delighted to have him join us and assume the role of Chairman. With his background on Capitol Hill, Executive Branch, the private sector and the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) he is a perfect fit for TSG. We look forward to his leadership and counsel in all aspects of TSG’s business practices from corporate consulting, and government contracting, to international business. He is the right person at the right time to take the reins as Chairman and lead the growth of one of the nation’s premier consulting and lobbying firms,” said TSG’s outgoing Chairman Emeritus, Navy Vice Admiral Steve Loftus (Ret.).

During his four-year tenure (2001-2005) as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Secretary Principi directed the federal government’s second largest department, responsible for a nationwide system of health care services, benefits programs, and national cemeteries for America’s 25-million living veterans and dependents. Commanding a budget in excess of $71 billion, Mr. Principi led an organization of 230,000 employees in hundreds of VA medical centers, clinics, benefits offices, and national cemeteries throughout the country.

Secretary Principi served as Staff Director of both the Senate Committee on Armed Services and Veteran Affairs. He was appointed by President George W. Bush to chair the 2005 military Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC). The Commission was responsible for recommending to the President and Congress the realignment and closure of military installations throughout the United States.

TSG, headquartered in Alexandria, VA, is a small business widely recognized as one of the premier consulting firms in the Washington D.C. area. TSG combines extraordinary experience, organization and resources to meet a broad range of challenges in both government and industry. TSG is unique among other Washington firms offering its clients an unmatched depth of access, insight and experience.
