PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NuScale Power announced today that Robert Gamble has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering. Gamble comes to NuScale from AREVA Solar where he just completed design, construction, commissioning and startup of a 125MWe thermal solar plant as the VP of Engineering and GM for North America Operations.
Prior to his work at AREVA, Gamble worked for General Electric (nuclear) for twenty-one years in several roles including: Vice President, Mechanical Design and Analysis Group; Program Manager, Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR); Engineering Manager, ESBWR as well as various engineering roles on advanced boiling water reactor (ABWR) design certification, space reactor designs and Sodium fast reactor designs.
As Vice President, Mechanical Design and Analysis Group, Gamble and his staff were responsible for the design and analysis of reactor pressure vessels, internals and piping, structural and vibrations analysis, seismic and dynamic analysis, fracture mechanics, and emergent outage work including diagnoses, evaluation, repair and replacement of all vessel hardware of the global operating fleet of GE BWRs.
