LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GoGuardian, a leading provider of Chromebook tools for K-12 schools, has just released early access to GoGuardian Director™ – a free analytics tool that gives educators insight into the district-wide use of educational apps and websites.
As schools across the nation roll out digital learning initiatives, educators cite the need for greater transparency into the engagement of free and paid software. The data from GoGuardian Director will allow for more informed decisions about where school resources could be allocated to yield better results for students.
GoGuardian Director’s dashboard consolidates analytics on the free and paid education software used in a school district. The dashboard will help educators discover engagement and adoption trends to quantify technology’s impact in the classroom. This will also help identify where product training and professional development resources might be most impactful. In a study of over 1000 K-12 districts using GoGuardian, Google Apps comprised 70% of all software usage, followed by game-based learning tools like Kahoot!, Sumdog, and ABCya!.
“We were searching for an opportunity to offer schools better data on their digital learning initiatives. We found that many educators have limited visibility into the actual engagement of software used across their district, and often relied on subjective survey-based methods,” said Aza Steel, GoGuardian co-founder and CEO. “With GoGuardian Director, educators gain a transparent view into usage analytics on school devices. This will help them identify software adoption trends, highlight professional development needs, get a deeper understanding into the ROI of their purchases, and plan where they may want to invest in the future. We’re excited to publicly open beta access so the education community can help inform the direction of this product," Steel continued.

Use Cases
David Chan of Evanston Township High school recognized that, “Being able to have a single tool help us evaluate where we're spending money and what usage we're getting is incredibly valuable.”
This sentiment was echoed by Dwayne Alton of Lee County Public schools, who said, “The ability to have the information captured in one place in GoGuardian versus having to assemble it from multiple places in different applications is helpful.” Dwayne continued, “How do we know that students are engaged? The Director dashboard will give us the granularity per application and that’s really meaningful. Having information that we can see on a daily basis is fantastic because then we know the actual usage."
Educators are looking for greater information to help them measure the impact of their software decisions. “With the dashboard, you see what's trending. It’s helpful for us to see which of our school’s paid services are being used in the classroom and how much engagement students are getting out of it... to review a particular choice in software application purchases,” said David Warren of Calvary Baptist Academy.
