Stratus Video Launches Two New Patient-Centric Solutions under Its Innovative Telehealth Division

The Post-Hospital Discharge Solution and the ER/Urgent Care Virtual Consult Debuted at ATA 2016

CLEARWATER, Fla.--()--Stratus Video, an industry leader in innovative video technology, announced today the launch of two new products under its telehealth division: a Post-Hospital Discharge solution and an ER/Urgent Care Virtual Consult solution. The first product gives health care providers the ability to follow up with discharged patients remotely while the second allows for ER and urgent care staff to reach on-call specialists immediately via virtual communication in emergency care situations. Both products launched at the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) 2016 Conference in Minneapolis this week.

Stratus designed the Post-Hospital Discharge solution to help health care providers manage and meet their requirement to monitor every patient’s unique recovery for the most critical time after being discharged. Offering a workflow that aligns with the period, the Stratus Post-Hospital Discharge solution automates follow-up reminders, connects patients and providers over a secure video call, and allows for patient Q&A.

“Conscientious patient follow-up has proven to reduce readmission rates,” said Lee Horner, president of Stratus Video’s telehealth division. “Our Post-Hospital Discharge program is an ideal solution for providers looking to reduce costs to the health care institution while simultaneously reducing readmission rates for discharged patients – increasing both the quality and efficiency of patient care.”

Stratus’s ER/Urgent Care Virtual Consult launched at ATA and is designed for real-time video communication with physician staff unable to be physically present in the ER for urgent patient needs. Providing real-time communication across critical, time-sensitive emergency care situations, the ER/Urgent Care Virtual Consult solution has the power to connect with staff anywhere and on any device without having to be at a stationary location.

“Technology plays one of the most important roles in today’s ever-evolving health care landscape,” said Horner. “Stratus’s telehealth solutions are addressing an industry need through both of these technological innovations, which aim to significantly improve patient outcomes and the overall patient experience.”
