LONDON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Further to a news release on April 28, 2016, PWC Capital Inc. (TSX:PWC) is pleased to announce the election of Tony Dagnone and Tel Matrundola to its Board of Directors at its recent Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders. The Directors subsequently elected Mr. Matrundola as Chair of the Board.
Tony Dagnone is a Fellow of both the Canadian Health Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has served in the capacities of President / CEO of Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital and London Health Sciences Centre for over 30 years. Over his career, he has held a number of roles in numerous Provincial and National organizations including Chair of Canadian College of Health Leaders, Chair of Ontario Hospital Association, Chair of Change Foundation, and Board member of Cancer Care Ontario. In 2008, he was appointed Commissioner of Saskatchewan's Patient First Review by the Provincial Government. Currently, Tony serves as Independent Director of Medbuy Corporation, and on the Board of London Health Sciences Centre Foundation. He advises several national corporations involved in the healthcare enterprise. His past community work includes Chairman of Saskatoon's 100th Anniversary Celebrations in 1982, Chairman of 1989 Canada Games and regularly presides over the Citizenship Court Ceremony in South West Ontario. In recognition of his volunteer work in both sports and healthcare, he was granted the Order of Canada, in 1991, and is a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal, in 2003.
Mr. Dagnone earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, in 1965, and a Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration at the University of Toronto, in 1967.
Tel Matrundola joined PWC’s subsidiary, Pacific & Western Bank of Canada, in 2003, as Vice President of Public & Corporate Affairs. Previously, Mr. Matrundola served in the Government of Canada as Senior Policy Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Policy Advisor to the Minister of Industry. Mr. Matrundola’s policy focus as Senior Advisor was Canada - US Relations, NAFTA, Post 9-11 Security and Anti-Terrorism, Border Issues and the creation of Nexus. Mr. Matrundola also has extensive experience in the Real Estate Development Industry.
Mr. Matrundola earned a Ph.D. in International Relations and Diplomacy from the American Graduate School of International Relations & Diplomacy, in Paris, France, in 1997, a Master of Arts in International Relations & Diplomacy from Schiller University’s Paris campus, in 1993, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto, in 1992, with additional studies at l’Universite de Paris XI, and the University of Siena.
