LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mance Media’s 4KUNIVERSE, a new global 4K-subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) channel, today announced its first original series: “Model Turned Superstar.” The new international reality series, which challenges over 100 models from all over the world to become the next superstar model, will premiere on June 28, 2016, on 4KUNIVERSE, the ultimate destination for 4K Ultra HD entertainment.
Hosted by fitness expert April Scott and featuring celebrity supermodel guest judges Alessandra Ambrosio, Irina Shayk, and Ana Beatriz Barros, the show will award a $1 million grand prize to its competition winner. The contestants will have to conquer their fears and prove themselves in daring feats that include zip lining through the jungles of Thailand to swimming with sharks in the tropic waters of Bora Bora – all in order to get their picture-perfect shot. A series of photo shoots and runway challenges will determine which of the top 13 girls will emerge as the winner of the grand prize.
Season One is comprised of 18 thirty-minute episodes filmed in beautiful locales such as Bora Bora, Thailand, Mexico, Dubai, the Bahamas, and Hong Kong – with the finale episode filmed in a Beverly Hills mansion. One episode will be released every week on Tuesdays on 4KUNIVERSE.
Show host April Scott is an actress, model, TV host, and fitness expert who played Daisy on the feature reboot of “Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.” Celebrity guest judge Ambrosio is a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. Shayk (2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model, “Hercules”) and Barros (Guess/Chanel/Victoria’s Secret model) round out the panel of judges.
