BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tucsen and Gpixel Inc. launch the Dhyana 95, a 95% QE camera utilizing back thinned, back illuminated sensor technology.
Gpixel Inc. is a Chinese company specializing in high-end customized and off-the-shelf CMOS image sensor solutions for industrial, medical, and scientific applications.
Tucsen is a world leading scientific camera development and manufacturing company. The company has abundant industry experience and strong technological capabilities, including a complete scientific camera manufacturing line.
Gpixel Inc. has commenced sampling of GSENSE400BSI-TVISB, an upgrade of its existing backside illuminated sensor. The new version of the sensor offers an unprecedented high quantum efficiency, of 95% at 580nm.
The Dhyana 95 with 2K x 2K resolution, 11um square pixel and readout noise of only 1.3 electrons, represents a viable alternative to EMCCD based cameras.
With 100,000 electron full well capacity and 93dB dynamic range, the Dhyana 95 provides excellent image quality in high contrast applications, at up to 35fps full frame over USB 3.0 and greater than 100fps at 1K x 1K resolution. Dark noise is minimized through -25℃ cooling of the hermetic sensor chamber.
Tucsen plans to release both cooled and uncooled versions of Dhyana 95 to meet the diverse needs of a broad range of users.
“This new release of the Dhyana 95 will result in Tucsen high sensitivity sCMOS being used in many more applications than previously anticipated. This is indicative of the current industry trend which shows the highest sensitivity sCMOS cameras pushing the limits and exceeding the performance of high end CCD and EMCCD cameras.” said Peter Chen, the CEO and founder of Tucsen.
About Tucsen
Founded in 2006, Tucsen Photonics, a Fuzhou, China based company has progressively advanced the technology of low cost cameras for scientific applications, culminating in the launch of the TrueChrome series of color cameras in 2013 that are considered to have the best color fidelity available today. This was followed in 2015 with the launch of the Dhyana 90,the company’s ultra-competitive scientific CMOS camera that delivers a 4MP images at 35fps. Primarily a supplier to Original Equipment Manufacturers worldwide, Tucsen expects that number of scientific camera sales to increase by >30% in 2015-2016.
