MULBERRY, Fla.--()--W.S. Badcock Corporation, one of the largest privately held furniture retailers in the U.S., today announced the promotion of Mitchell P. Stiles Jr. to the level of Vice President of Dealer Retail Operations by its Board of Directors.

“Mitchell has proven himself a valuable leader within our corporate operations team,” said Rob Burnette, Chief Operating Officer. “His experience and deep understanding of the day to day responsibilities and goals for dealers ensures his appointment will be met with strong support from our retail community.”

Mitchell started his career with the corporation in May of 2000 in a Lakeland store while attending Florida Southern College. He continued to work summers with the corporation while attending school until his graduation from FSC in 2004 when he became a full-time employee in the Corporate Administration offices. He was one of the first fifth-generation Badcock family members to pioneer the “Manager in Training” program and has since acted as manager of several corporate retail stores, including being named Corporate Store Manager of the year in 2008. He later served as a Dealer Advisor and Corporate District Manager before being promoted to his most recent position of Director of Corporate Retail Operations, Southern Division.

In his new role as Vice President of Dealer Retail Operations, Mitchell will report directly to Bill Pou Jr., Executive Vice President of Retail Operations. He will be responsible for coordinating the daily interaction between dealers and the corporation, and will advise and direct the efforts of the regional and district advisors to assure the concerns of the dealers are addressed and the profitability of both the corporation and dealers is maintained.

Mitchell currently lives in Lakeland with his wife, Angee, and family, and is the son of Mary Badcock Stiles and the late Mitchell Stiles Sr., who served as the corporation’s Executive Vice President in charge of Public Relations until his death in 1997.
