GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amerigroup Texas today announced Tisch Scott has been named health plan president, effective immediately. Scott, a 24-year industry veteran, succeeds LeAnn Behrens who was recently named president of the organization’s West Region Medicaid operations.
Scott, who joined Amerigroup in 2004, most recently served as regional vice president and chief operating officer of Amerigroup Texas. In this role, she was responsible for the day to day operations for the health plan, serving the state’s Medicaid beneficiaries. Scott also served in several roles including chief operating officer of both Georgia and Illinois health plans as well as vice president of provider relations and contracting. Prior to joining Amerigroup, she worked for Prudential Healthcare, UnitedHealthcare, MMC 20/20, Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Scott holds a B.S. in Business Administration.

Amerigroup is currently the second largest provider of the State of Texas Medicaid program, serving approximately 800,000 members who are beneficiaries in the state Medicaid Aged, Blind and Disabled, Children’s Health Insurance Program, Long-Term Services and Supports, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Nursing Facility programs. Amerigroup serves members in 11 of 13 Texas Service Areas.
