RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oriental Ocean Sci-tech Co., Ltd. of Shandong Province (OOST), China, has acquired US medical diagnostics firm Avioq, Inc. through a 100% purchase of shares and assumption of outstanding liabilities.
Founded in 2007 and incorporated in North Carolina, Avioq’s management team, with over half holding doctorates, has more than 250 combined years of experience in the diagnostics industry. The company's current products include FDA approved HIV-1 and FDA licensed HTLV-I/II test kits. The company has other HIV products and sample collection devices in the late stages of development. The company also offers contract research, development and manufacturing for diagnostic test kits, and critical biomaterials to third parties in Avioq’s FDA licensed, ISO 13485 facilities.
According to Avioq CEO Dr. Chamroen Chetty, OOST plans to utilize Avioq’s experienced team to expand their entrance into the US diagnostic market as well as to expand Avioq’s brand internationally. “We are very excited about the increased opportunities to grow our business in cooperation with OOST.
