PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SurveyMonkey®, the world’s leading online survey platform, today launched SurveyMonkey Intelligence, a mobile app insights platform. The new product expands the company’s existing data businesses, offering data and critical insights on more than a thousand mobile apps and the overall app economy to customers. With SurveyMonkey Intelligence, app publishers can benchmark key metrics, track competitors, improve due diligence, and discover emerging mobile trends in order to make smarter business decisions.
SurveyMonkey Intelligence was created through the acquisition and incubation of Renzu, a mobile startup co-founded by Zynga alumni Abhinav Agrawal, Arjun Lall, and Jason Tomlinson. As app developers, their frustration in trying to get competitive app data led them to create Renzu. They set out to provide everyone -- from first-time entrepreneurs to investors and marketers -- access to quality mobile app data.
“Mobile will be the leading platform in which businesses connect with customers. With our acquisition of Renzu and the launch of SurveyMonkey Intelligence, we’re removing the barriers of time, difficulty, and cost in getting mobile app data -- just as the company did 17 years ago when it established the online survey space and democratized the feedback process,” said Zander Lurie, CEO of SurveyMonkey. “Abhinav, Arjun and Jason have a proven and deep track record of expertise and leadership in the mobile app space, and we’re fortunate to have them leading this new business.”
SurveyMonkey Intelligence creates a new branch of SurveyMonkey’s data business, offering customers granular data around mobile usage, revenue, and churn at an accessible price point. Mobile metric data currently provided by SurveyMonkey Intelligence includes:
- Usage and retention data: active users (weekly or monthly), user engagement, sessions and time spent, churn
- Leaderboards: fastest growing, largest by category, best-in-class metrics, top new apps
- Features: filter by OS and store category, compare apps side-by-side, export chart images, download CSV data
- Audience data: demographics, user base overlap, app affinity
- Store data: downloads, revenue, average revenue per daily active users
“SurveyMonkey Intelligence makes it easier for app publishers to get the critical data they need to remain competitive in today’s crowded mobile landscape. Our platform empowers users to confidently research what to build next, understand areas for improvement and identify emerging mobile trends,” said Abhinav Agrawal, VP of SurveyMonkey Intelligence. “I am excited to be joining SurveyMonkey, a company with a longstanding track record for helping people access data in order to make great decisions.”
Similar to SurveyMonkey, the platform includes a free plan where customers can easily select any app to track downloads and active user metrics. Paid plans begin at $79 per month when you buy an annual plan, and scale up depending on customer needs.
SurveyMonkey Intelligence data is based on a large national sample of Android and iOS users across devices in the United States. To learn more about SurveyMonkey Intelligence, visit surveymonkey.com/business/intelligence.
