Santa Clara University honors Global Upside VP Rick Giorgetti with Ignatian Award

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Rick Giorgetti, Vice President of Staffing at Global Upside, has been awarded with the prestigious Ignatian Award from Santa Clara University. The Ignatian Award acknowledges university alumni who live the ideals of competence, conscience, and compassion through service to others. Previous Ignatian Award Recipients include Frank Boitano, Kevin Eagleson, Leon Panetta, Roxanne Vane, and Edward Panelli.

"The Alumni Association is proud to honor individuals who have brought distinction to Santa Clara University through service to others,” said Kathy Kale, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations at SCU. “Rick is definitely one of those unsung heroes who is making a difference in the world. He deserves to be recognized," said Ms. Kale.

“Rick’s volunteer efforts encompassing education, community, professional, and church embody the Ignatian purpose,” said Leo Quilici, a former Silicon Valley financial executive, who nominated Mr. Giorgetti for the Award. “This award is a fitting tribute to his giving and caring for others.”

“Being recognized by my alma mater, the Jesuit Community, and my good friend and classmate is truly a humbling experience,” said Giorgetti. “I am embracing this honor as a tribute to the organizations that allowed me to be a part of their efforts towards the betterment of humanity.”

For over 40 years, Giorgetti has been active in community service involving seven beneficiary organizations including Santa Clara University’s Bronco Bench Foundation, Sacred Heart Nativity School, Silicon Valley Chapter of Financial Executives International, Presentation High School, and the Rotary Club of San Jose.

“Rick is a role model for all Bay Area business executives,” said Ragu Bhargava, CEO of Global Upside. “This award is a testament to his character and his passion for making a difference in the world. I’m proud to have him as part of the Global Upside family.”
