AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mozu today announced that Jelly Belly Candy Company has replaced its homegrown eCommerce system with Mozu’s modern cloud commerce platform to support international growth and its eBusiness needs. With company roots dating back to 1898, the Jelly Belly brand has become a household name that is synonymous with jelly beans. In 2014, the company saw the potential to reach more consumers and businesses worldwide through an engaging digital experience that enhances the brand, showcases its products, and most importantly, encourages customers to indulge in their sweet tooth through direct online transactions. To accomplish this goal, Jelly Belly engaged with Mozu to replace its homegrown solution, which had become an IT and marketing burden.
Recently, Jelly Belly launched its consumer website on Mozu. In the first week, Jelly Belly experienced its biggest ever week in revenue and has since seen a 21 percent increase in organic site traffic. Within a year, Jelly Belly was able to scale to 40 worldwide sites, 35 of which are international, without overburdening IT. On the Mozu platform, Jelly Belly upgraded to a natively responsive mobile experience that is two times faster right out of the gate. Expanding to mobile, Jelly Belly has increased its mobile sales by 300 percent and increased tablet revenue by 26 percent. Furthermore, the new platform has empowered the Jelly Belly eBusiness team to take ownership of the marketing experience.
“Migrating from our homegrown platform to Mozu has given Jelly Belly the power to scale and grow much faster than we could on our own,” said Brandon Finch, director of eBusiness for Jelly Belly Candy Company. “Having the capability to launch multiple sites and make real-time updates to our products, catalogs and promotions at the business level, without burdening IT, has been a game changer for the eBusiness team at Jelly Belly. Making changes to our sites used to take weeks or months, involve multiple departments, and quickly become costly projects. Now with Mozu, the same changes take one person just minutes, hours or days.”
Mozu’s true multi-tenant SaaS cloud platform is lower cost with higher operational efficiency than onsite hosting and maintenance of Jelly Belly’s homegrown solution. With Mozu’s open Application Program Interface (API), Jelly Belly is able to seamlessly integrate Mozu with its homegrown Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to manage order and inventory information. Jelly Belly’s entire commerce eco-system was instantly upgraded with Mozu and is future ready with regular feature updates.
“Jelly Belly is a prime example of the type of partnerships that we cultivate at Mozu,” said Jason Wallis, chief technology officer at Mozu. “Jelly Belly has been able to quickly scale after the initial implementation, with little involvement from Mozu, resulting in increased consumer experience and revenue, and improved business workflows.”
